Who is responsible

What this website collects

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your role, your email address, optionally your phone number, and whatever you write about your system. We use it to answer you and, if it leads somewhere, to prepare a proposal. We do not sell it, we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we do not add you to a mailing list without asking.

There are no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies on this site. Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes standard server request data such as your IP address in order to serve the pages and to keep the form free of spam. Form submissions are stored with Netlify and forwarded to us by email.

Fonts

This site loads the Poppins typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. If you would rather that did not happen, tell us and we will host the font ourselves.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are removed within two years. Enquiries that become a customer relationship follow the retention rules for our business records, which in the Netherlands means seven years for anything with a financial trail.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address above and we will answer within a month, usually within a few days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

The product, not the website

First Mate itself runs on your own server. Its logbook and its data stay there. This statement covers this website only. What the software stores, and for how long, is set out in the documentation that comes with an installation.
